Apple Pie

Fillingapple pie della robia

  • 6 Granny Smith apples peeled, cored and sliced or cubed
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ¼  cup flour
  • 2 tbls cinnamon
  • ½  teas ginger
  • ¼  teas nutmeg
  • 4-6 tbls butter

Pie crust

  • 1 cup cold shortening or butter or both
  • ⅓ cup ice cold water
  • 1 teas vinegar or vodka
  • 1 teas salt
  • 2 ½ cups flour
Put the apple slices in a large bowl. Combine the dry ingredients and sprinkle over the apples. Pour the spiced apple mixture into the pie crust and dot with butter. Cover with a top pie crust, cut a design or make slits to let steam escape. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Bake 50-60 minutes at 400°.
